Significant Increase in Fees for Patents, Trademarks and Industrial Designs Effective January 1, 2024

The Canadian Intellectual Property Office adjusts government patent, trademark and industrial design fees on an annual basis with a view to reflect inflationary costs.  The Office has however announced that various government fees will increase significantly by as much as 25% or more as of January 1, 2024.  Applicants may wish to consider remitting necessary fees prior to the 2023 calendar year end to avoid fee increases.
